Dear Friend:
There are many wonderful things that come from running for office. Making new friends, having the chance to listen to your neighbors and fellow citizens, and taking time to consider the blessings this country affords.
Unfortunately elections sometimes have a seedy side. It doesn’t have to be that way, but all too often it is. And with the June 8th primary merely weeks away, the dirty tricks and hi-jinks are in full bloom.
Sometime this week a flyer was put on cars and in mailboxes in parts of Spartanburg. The flyer has my name at the top and then proceeds to misrepresent my career as a state and federal prosecutor and misstate facts. While I can’t stop others from resorting to underhanded and immoral acts, I can assure you of this: I won’t ever put a flyer on your car and I won’t ever put campaign material in your mailbox unless it’s been mailed and clearly marked by our campaign.
I firmly believe that if you want to be a different kind of leader, you have to be a different kind of candidate. I don’t malign others who are seeking this same office, and I detest tactics that are underhanded and dirty.
If you ever receive anything during this campaign season that doesn’t seem right or in order, please call or email me. The results matter but so does the process.
The good news is that only 6 weeks are left before this silly season ends. June 8th you’ll have an opportunity to put any end to the political games and double speak. You’ll have a chance to elect a new voice to represent you in Washington. I’d be honored to have your vote.
Trey

It would not surprise me at all to learn that Roan Q Garcia and Dark Horse Strategy are behind these dirty tactics. They have been beating up on Christina Jeffrey and trying to run the conservative movement in SC. They are underhanded and shameful.
Trey,
I agree with your statement 100% that there is too much underhanded stuff going on in this race and too many folks are engaging in mudslinging and attempts at personal destruction.
We need honest discussions of the issues and people should not distribute material anonymusly, much less material that is misattributed to others. (In fact, doing so is illegal)
Unfortunately, it appears that one man in this race has a “group” of supporters who do NOT share the high ideals of the rest of us.
I wish you well and will certainly support you if you become the Republican nominee. The politics of personal destruction make it more difficult to get decent folks to participate in the political process and do not help us elect the GOP ticket in November either.
Best Wishes,
Dean Allen
Trey,
I find it sad that both Dems and the G.O.P. run on attacking the other guy. None of you stand on your own merit or record. Pathetic really. I can’t say I know a lot about who your running mates are currently. What is clear is I have seen Republicans abuse this state I love for far too long. That’s not to say I know Democrats would do a better job but I believe they deserve a chance. You guys blew it.
Respectfully,
Billy Taylor
Actually Roan Garcia-Quintana is a Trey Gowdy supporter. This may surprise many who have assumed otherwise. But Roan has been supporting Trey from the beginning.
In fact the ones who have been spreading lies from the very beginning are the Jeffrey campaign and her gang of unemployed grifters. Additionally, these grifters have been destroying other candidates’ signs.
Kelly, you have been posting lies on some blogs that have given you an opportunity to post whatever reality you wish to create. Christina will come in last, as she should be.
