A quick note from our campaign manager George Ramsey.
If you wonder what the “new” Bob Inglis is willing to do or say to stay in Washington, the answer is – just about anything! With shrinking poll numbers and last place finishes in straw polls, Inglis’s list of distortions and desperate acts continues to grow.
Inglis’s most recent act of distortion and desperation was to flatly misstate Solicitor Trey Gowdy’s position on the Union County Lake Project. Gowdy has never called for an earmark to support the Union Lake Project. Never. Instead Gowdy’s position is exactly the same position as Senator Jim DeMint’s: To lend a hand of leadership, to bring stakeholders to the table to discuss feasibility, to show interest and concern for the water needs and economic development of Union County, and to offer that support consistent with his legislative principles. That is the DeMint approach and that is the Gowdy approach.
The truth is Inglis does support earmarks and has supported them since his “2.0 version” showed up back in Congress. The “old” Bob Inglis opposed earmarks, the “new” Bob Inglis seeks them and apparently the “new” Bob Inglis believes in distorting other people’s positions as well.
